Licensed Clinical Psychologist
MY PRACTICE
As a psychologist, I provide services to children, teens, and adults. I use what are called “behavioral” and “cognitive” interventions the most, but I include other approaches as needed. I aim to build on the strengths of those I work with, not just to tackle problems but also to help youths and families move closer to the lives they want to be living. I tailor treatment to best fit the needs of those I work with, while sticking to treatment approaches that have strong research evidence behind them to show that they work (also called “evidence-based practices”).
My work with children, teens and families focuses on behavioral and emotional challenges including: anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, depression, disruptive behavior/acting out, grief, and ADHD. At the request of the client, I also provide coordination with teachers and other healthcare providers regarding ongoing concerns.
Successful treatment will involve individuals trying new things both within our meetings and between them. In the case of children, caregivers or parents often need to make changes in their own behavior in order to help their children change.
Emotional and physical well-being are hugely impacted by factors like racial stress and discrimination, and belonging to other marginalized identities. Many mental health challenges represent valid responses to terrible stressors. For some, I recognize, moving toward your goals involves navigating added burdens and obstacles. I strive to be informed and self-aware, and I welcome feedback on how I am doing at meeting you where you are, honoring your unique values, experiences and cultural background, and delivering care with the respect and understanding you deserve.
As a parent
I have experience with just how fun, humbling, awe inspiring, challenging, and terrifying it can be to raise a child. There is so much we don’t control in the lives of our kids and in who they will become. And yet there is so much we can do to help them on their way.
Remote care only
I do not currently offer in-person meetings. Sessions are conducted using a secure video platform.
Other Roles & Projects
